To All the Boys: P.S. I Withal Love You is a 2022 American teen romantic comedy motion-picture show directed by Michael Fimognari and written by Sofia Alvarez and J. Mills Goodloe. The film stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart, Trezzo Mahoro, Madeleine Arthur, Emilija Baranac, Kelcey Mawema, Jordan Fisher, Ross Butler, Julie Tao, Sarayu Blue, John Corbett, Kingdom of the netherlands Taylor. The picture is based on Jenny Han's 2022 novel P.S. I All the same Love Y'all.
The film is a sequel to To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018), and the 2d installment in the To All the Boys film series. The picture show was released on Feb 12, 2022 exclusively on Netflix, with a third film titled To All the Boys: Always and Forever released on Feb 12, 2021.[1]
Plot [edit]
Lara Jean Covey'southward loftier school sets upwards a volunteer program. While her boyfriend Peter Kavinsky volunteers with his friends, Lara Jean goes to Belleview Retirement Home instead, post-obit in her older sister Margot's footsteps.
On her commencement day there, she meets Stormy, an eccentric sometime lady who Margot often mentioned, and also discovers that John Ambrose McClaren volunteers at Belleview. They talk nigh a love alphabetic character she had written to him many years ago, and he lets her read the letter as long as she gives it back to him afterward. Lara Jean is unable to stop thinking nearly their chat and, in addition, is constantly insecure well-nigh her human relationship with Peter considering she can't stop comparing herself with her ex-all-time friend, and Peter's ex-girlfriend, Gen.

Lara Jean and John Ambrose go to the treehouse where they hung out in middle school to dig upwards the time capsule they buried years ago with their friends, including Gen, and have turns unpacking information technology. Gen claims that she didn't put anything in the fourth dimension capsule. Peter gets jealous of John Ambrose and reveals his relationship with Lara Jean. She and Peter argue but end upwards making up.

He is waiting outside because he remembers she doesn't like driving in the snowfall, a fact that she told him on their outset date. He says that she tin can break his eye if she wants, merely instead she says that she loves him, and he tells her he loves her back. They buss and make up, and in an ending voiceover Lara Jean says that she had wanted a fairytale human relationship with Peter, but is now satisfied with what she has.

In August 2018, Jenny Han, author of the source novel, said of a picture show sequel to To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which would accommodate Han'due south second volume in the serial, P.S. I However Dear You:
At that place'due south so many things in the 2d volume that I would love to run into in a sequel. The whole reason why I wrote a 2d book was for the character of John Ambrose McClaren, who is a fan favorite, and he's a favorite of mine too. I would love to see that explored, and likewise in that location's a graphic symbol called Stormy that I love to write. I would love to run across that.[three]
In Nov 2018, it was reported that Netflix and Paramount Pictures' Awesomeness Films were in discussions to produce a sequel,[iv] and Netflix announced the development of a sequel featuring Condor and Centineo in December 2018.[5] In March 2019, information technology was reported that Michael Fimognari, cinematographer on the starting time motion picture, would brand his feature film directorial debut with the sequel, taking over from the original picture'southward managing director Susan Johnson, who would stay on to executive produce.[half-dozen] It was too appear that Parrish, Cathcart and Corbett would return to co-star.[6]

The first trailer for To All the Boys: P.Southward. I Still Dear You was released on December 19, 2019,[xvi] revealing that the moving picture would exist released exclusively on Netflix on February 12, 2020.[17]

On the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, the moving-picture show holds an approving rating of 76% based on 72 reviews, with an boilerplate rating of 6.7/x. The website's critical consensus reads, "To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You may feel like little more than an affable postscript to its predecessor, only fans of the original should all the same find this a swoonworthy sequel."[18] On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 54 out of 100, based on reviews from 16 critics, indicating "mixed or boilerplate reviews".[19]
Nick Allen of RogerEbert.com gave the film ii i/2 stars out of 4, and wrote that "its enjoyment will depend largely on whether yous desire Peter to be the main boy that Lara loves, or not."[20] He added, "It's hard to get past the promise that Lara Jean will anytime soon get something better—a better beau, and a better movie."
Sequel [edit]
A third picture show, based on the tertiary novel in the trilogy, began filming on July fifteen, 2019, ii months later product on the 2d picture show wrapped.[21]
